Who We Are
The of birth of the First Industrial Revolution sparked the drive in the scientists of the time to conjure up and try out new ideas. The technological developments that followed led to various inventions. However, it became apparent that by tweaking those inventions new developments could be achieved at comparatively low costs. This tweaking, or innovation has enabled society to achieve tremendous developments within a very short time. It is now widely accepted that innovation is a very powerful tool towards development, especially in industrialization.
Banking in this understanding, we established the SMARTINNOVEX Company with a focus towards harnessing the power of innovation to accelerate industrialization in under-developed communities and countries.

Herald Kundaeli
CEO & Founder
Professor Kundaeli is a retired professor who has worked in establishing and advancing the growth of ICT at the University of Dar es Salaam. He started by teaching electronics at the Department of Physics at the University of Dar es Salaam, and was greatly involved in combining the ICT-related courses, programmes, staff and units from the Faculties of Science and Engineering, into the College of Information and Communication Technologies with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering being one of the Departments.
He is establishing the Goba Innovation Complex, which is envisioned to focus on research, training and shopping facilities in ICT and ICT-related innovations, products and services.
He is also the CEO and Founder of Smartinnovex Company Limited which will be based at the Goba Innovation Complex, and is designed to perform a major role in advancing the Innovation Complex.
